Say Hello to Hank!

As we mentioned before we have a new member of the Bruff's Bark Band and here he is...

This is Hank, he's a little Chihuahua cross Jack Russell Terrier, as you can see he's full of energy and like a good roam about the big, big world! Be sure to look out for more of Hank when we get him meeting some new pals!

Hello 2015!

We hope everyone had a great New Year and is ready to get stuck into 2015!

We are back to normal after a restful break and with that we'll be starting our Training Classes up again on the 17th January and onwards through the year! We have new exciting equipment for all the dogs to enjoy!

With that we've got a some new technology over Christmas and we'd like to share some footage of it in action! We have a GoPro video camera and a dog harness, so we can get an exciting view from our dogs perspective - we need to do a bit more playing with it as well - so here's a little video of Skye wearing the gear!

Happy National Dog Day!

Apologises for the short delay!

Yes, the 26th of August is officially National Dog Day!

But what is it?

National Dog Day (Also known as: International Dog Day & National Dog Appreciation Day) is celebrated August 26th annually and serves to help galvanize the public to recognize the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year, and acknowledges family dogs and dogs that work selflessly each day to save lives, keep us safe and bring comfort. Dogs put their lives on the line every day - for their law enforcement partner, for their blind companion, for a child who is disabled, for our freedom and safety by detecting bombs and drugs and pulling victims of tragedy from wreckage.

 - National Dog Day Website

And how do you celebrate it?

Well there is many way to celebrate it! From simple things like having a  good walk with your dog(s), getting them gifts and treats, helping others with their dog(s) or giving a new life to a dog in a shelter and adopting them!
Check out the website for more ideas!

But there is one idea we love at Bruff's Bark and that's getting some fabulous photos, so without further ado here's Oscar and Oscar!

The new Baywatch star!

An unlikely Friendship

We have known for years that dogs whilst gentle most times, they will follow their prey drive and chase other animals.

But as you know a few of the Bruff's Bark Band have been introduced to a - sometimes unsocial - rabbit known as Thumper. Great care has always been taken during these times but there was a breakthrough with our Winston.

Last time they met, Winston wasn't too unsure of what to do with Thumper and just stayed away. But when they met again, Winston again stayed upstairs rather than feel glare of a rabbit.

Until later in the night when Thumper made a surprise visit upstairs to Winston and from there on a friendship was born!

What's that?

It's getting closer!

Oh, why hello there old chap!

Harvey's Weekend Getaway!

Making himself at home - on my bed!
Just catching up with on goings of everyone else, we nearly forgot to show of what happened when Harvey came over for the weekend to mine - Tom.

Well it was a busy weekend with training on the Friday and Saturday but the wee man got some special time with me and you'll see that the results speak for themselves!

My bed Harvey's Bed
His afternoon read was all a bit too much as well!
Couldn't even make it to his own bed!

All I did was take him for a few walks, play with him and feed him - honest! He was very taken with Thumper, though Thumper didn't share them and would blank him - Thumper is quite antisocial!

Oscar's Little Sleepover!

Grumpy.
Now following on from Winston's visitOscar had been given the special treatment of not just visiting my [Tom] house and seeing Thumper but staying over night!

Now the wee man was in for a bit of a surprise when he came round, as I kept him busy and entertained and the results are great except...

He was too tired to stay awake for a nice photo! He did make himself at home though as you'll see - also tired to sleep in my bed!

Showing off his good side.

Now, no visit would be complete without meeting Thumper!

Winston's Surprise Visit!

Well it isn't often that I - Tom - have dogs round at mine, usually always walking them but mainly due to this beast known as Thumper.

He's bigger than he looks!

But every so often I have a dog over for a few hours or nights, and this it was Winston it got the privilege to come over for a few hours and meet my bunny - unbeknown to him! Though unlike other dogs that have loved or ignored Thumper, Winston was actually scared of him! It might have been that they are similar sized or he had no idea what to but as you'll see, Winston couldn't even look Thumper in the eyes!

But this isn't to say Winston didn't have a fun time, s you'll see from the next few photos he had a bit too much fun!
Joining me on the laptop!

Doing some posing!

Soaked from playing down at Cramond!

Taking over the bed now!

After all the excitement, Winston decided it was too much for him.

Exercise: You and the Dog

Exercise - mentally and physically - is the best activity that will make you and your dog(s) feel better - even on rough days - and this video by Victoria Stilwell explains why and what exactly your dog(s) wants.
