Yes, the Summer Holidays are coming to an end soon but it doesn't mean the fun is going to stop! All it means is we are going to be back to full steam with all our Band members coming back in their usual routines! But here's what's been happening recently!
Maggie has been staying at Hotel Bruff with the Girls and what a ball she has been having!
Hoof!
More Hoofs!
Enjoying the sun with - of course - a hoof!
There has also been the usual fun and games when we've got all the Band members together for a play! So here we have: Rhu, Skye, Floyd, Maggie, Tess, Frank and Winston!
And finally we'll end with what happens when the members enjoy the sun too much!
Left to Right: Jack; Bonnie & Chloe, Merlin; Rhu, Skye and Maggie
Which means business at Bruff's Bark is a bit quieter with a good lot of our dogs away for some time, but it doesn't mean we have been slacking! Though the heat has proved sometimes a bit too much for the dogs recently! So here is some photos from the week of our dogs in the sun!
Merlin and Daphne having a little break
Next up it's Jack out in the park, chilling after a good play with the ball.
Then here's the silly face of Oscar, who had a really good walk in the sun but unfortunately couldn't move when he got home - had to bring the water bowl to him!
And here's big Red, enjoying a good lie down at the beach before heading home.
Though Red caught the attention of two lovely ladies, who started to follow him as he passed by but were happy to get their photo taken.
And finally but not at all least, here's the Girls - Rhu and Skye - enjoying some peace at Hotel Bruff before the next visitor turned up, Buster!
The weather has some times proved too much for our Bruff's Bark Members but it also provides the perfect time for some photo opportunities!
Starting from the top left, we've got the poser Bertie, then we've got two newer members: Guanche and (Mr) Bradley showing some good smiles! Then we've got Rudi having a good nap after a good time playing in the sun, next up is Maggie showing her fierce face - real model material there! Following is Kari and Merlin & Daphne all chilling in the good weather. Finally the last two, the heat has proved too much for Oscar then it's Rhu as per usual enjoying not doing much!
Then it's time for our big boy with loads of joy, it's Red! He may be big, full of beans but this boy is just a super-sized pup, wanting to play, meet new friends and a gentle giant at heart!
Finally after 2 weeks with the Girls, Bertie is finally back home to enjoy some peace and quiet. He's never stopped, from meeting other members and going to new places, he'll need a holiday to recover!
Yes, we've had some nice weather and with that comes happy dogs! We'll start of with an older boy, who has been with us since near the beginning but is still full of energy and makes Addison work, here's Boomer!
Next up, we have a boy - with his lil' sister - who unfortunately had a infection in his eye for a while but is back in full health and full of energy, here's Merlin with Daphne!
No, they aren't that small, it's a very big ball!
Also here's a clip of him showing his happiness to be able to play again! - Daphne is just happy to sunbathe.
Then here's another little girl, who is full of beans for her favourite ball, it's Kari!
Finally, we'll round this up with a few more happy face, here's the regulars: Rhu, Skye and Winston!
Recently we've had some lovely weather and we thought we'd make the most of it with the Bruff's Bark Band. So here's: Rhu, Skye, Winston, Cara, Rudi, Merlin, Daphne, Alfie and Maggie all making the best of the sun and having some fun!
And here's two friends who haven't seen each other in a while but still know how to play, here's Ruby and Floyd!
Next up, here's a little girl who just enjoys a good walk with Hilary, it's Midget!
And finally to round everything off, here's Yogi during his little stay over with Rhu and Skye.
And the kids are back to school but we'd like to give a big thank and shout out to Paul and Lauren for their help over the summer, they were a giant help and all the dogs will miss them. We would definitely have them back in a flash but we wish them all the best in the next term of school! So now it's back to the hard work and we have some good news: we have a significant number of new dogs joining the Bruff's Bark Band and all new equipment for training! So keep your eyes peeled for them in the coming weeks!
But as a little preview, here's one of them: Oscar the puppy Bulldog with big Buster!
And finally here a short video of cute coupling playing: Merlin and Cara!
The weather is improving - slowly - hopefully come Summer the threat of rain will be long away for a while but for now at Bruff's Bark we are enjoying every bit of sun we can!
Knackered and yet only half way there!
Buster has now joined the ranks of our cycling dogs, although not as fast as Skye or Jack, his stamina and eagerness to run makes his a perfect canine to cycle with!
Betty, our puppy rottweiler is growing up fast and full of energy, she is best of friends with Bailey and Scarlett as you can see from the video below:-
But recently she has spent the weekend staying over with Rhu and Skye - and having a blast! Skye - per usual - has acted like a mother towards her, whilst Rhu an aunt. From the video and photos you will see the fun and chaos they had together.
Finally not to forget during the weeks of fun,we have our wizard Merlin! He now over a years old and feisty as ever; though after a good game of tug of war he loves nothing other than a little lie down to rest.
Also you may have noticed we've added another tab labelled "Staff Holidays", this is just to share dates of when staff are on holiday, but don't worry as we'll still be available for walks and plays during these as we have extra hands to help out!
Here's a little video of our Merlin playing with Kai. These two haven't seen each other for a while but it's just great that they just love to play with each other and become friends. Merlin is progressing nicely - especially as he's still a pup - and he's a smart little wizard picking up commands quickly.
It's the start of the darker and cold days, but it doesn't stop us having the same fun we always have! As you can see camera shy Merlin has just straight into the spirit and covered himself in all the leaves he could!
And here is Oscar and Bobby having fun with their favourite toy: balls! These two just love to play fetch and could run forever if there is a ball to chase; this is their first time meeting each other and as you can see they are more interested in the balls that anything else!
Moby has made a great
deal of progress over the last few weeks has I have been taking him out a lot
more and working with him has has his mum and sister. I had him out last week
with his new friend Merlin and he is so much better at playing and socialising
with other dogs.
There is still a lot of work to do and things to get right
with him but he's a great boy and in this video he was playing with Kai (a
staffy/collie cross) who was a rescue and came from the Edinburgh Cat and Dog Home. They had loads of fun playing and most importantly Moby didn't try to
domainate Kai as is an occassional problem with him. Merlin couldn't get
involved too much as he is so small but his wizard powers couldn't help him
overpower his larger friends.
Merlin has continued in his progress as a magician. He is now more responsive to commands - whilst learning new ones -, less defencive when meeting new dogs and is overly a joy to walk. He has also taken a real shine to the Pink Chicken toy.
Merlinused to bark relentlessly but now it is surprising to hear more than a note from him. He has amazed us in his growth but he has a bit to go before he is a true Wizard.
Merlin is a high energy, full of mischief pup. He's a nine month old shih tzu and he has some naughty habits. He liked being mean to other dogs,
he was naughty on his lead and he didn't listen to his mum and dad.
Tom and I have been working with Merlin for the last three weeks and the
difference is amazing. He greets dogs now in the correct way, he listens
to his mum and dad, and he loves playing with other dogs. Once Merlin
realised that he was safe and understood the rules of the Bruffs Bark Band he
has joined in really well.
