The girls have had few pals over for sleep overs. Many more to come!!

February Catch Up!

So February is nearly ended?! The weeks just seem to fly in, least it will be Spring and Summer soon though! We've had some sun at least in the meantime, though it's still a bit chilly!

So we've had Digger come to Hotel Bruff for the day and as you can see he's made himself right at home and fast asleep with Skye.

Next we had a big adventure with the Girls, Buster and Noah!

These lot know how to be patient!

But they know how to have "fun", well at least Noah likes to move!

And then we have Cara meeting Noah for the first time and becoming best friends, whilst Rhu and Skye mope about.

So looks like Summer decided to make an appearance this week - though not for long! - so we had some nice fun with our Band Members and some photos!

Hotel Bruff

Yes, it looks like doors are opening and closing often at Hotel Bruff with the start of summer, so let's see who has been recently!

We start off with a 2 week visit from Cara! As she's grown up with the Girls, she's right at home at Hotel Bruff.

Next up we have a big boy who hasn't been for a while but it more than welcome, it's Oscar! He's been staying for the past few days and catching up with everyone.

He has been greatly missed by the Girls but he knows how to have fun, so here is some clips of him in action, including some fun in the sun with Rudi!

But after all the fun and playing it's time for a well deserved nap and Oscar likes his naps, even if they are short!

He's a good doorstop as well!

In other news, Bruff's Bark has been enjoying the recent increase in Sun - even getting a bit of a tan/burnt - but it's important to remember that not all dogs like the heat!

Rudi likes the heat but can't last long in it!

Another Young Face!

Hello!

Yes! We have another young pup to join the Bruff's Bark Band, this time it's a little girl by the name of Tess! She is just a little bundle of furry joy who is starting to come out of her shell thanks to the fun with other Band members.

Here's a little video of her to introduce and see her in action with the like of Maggie and Frank!

Next up is a clip of both Frank and Red in action at a recent training session, they are both quite new to the training but they are proving themselves are getting through it will ease!

And to round up lets have a little view of what's happening in the house with Rhu, Skye and Cara.

It's a Pug's Life!

We have another Pug - or as we have recently learned they are known as the Dutch Mastiff! - and he's a little young pup of 4 months!

Meet Frank!

This little man isn't afraid of anything or anyone and has happily made himself apart of the bigger dogs of the Bruff's Bark Band! We now have 5 Pugs - Winston, Rudi, Bertie, Basie and Frank - each with a different personality but full of energy and joy!

Pugs have been well known throughout history, the breed originating for China but becoming a well sought after dog by royalty in Europe in the 16th Century onwards.


Enough Pug business - for now - we have had some more sleepovers recently, starting with Cara, who is with Rhu and Skye at the moment. So she has been meeting some new doggy friends whilst on her little holiday from home.

So here is her new pals: Hugo, Maggie, Midget and Sophie.

And after some playing -  like rest of the dogs who stay over - Cara is ready for a good nap!

But with all of the dogs in Bruff's Bark, we do love them and sometimes they show us affection back.

Recently we've had some lovely weather and we thought we'd make the most of it with the Bruff's Bark Band.

So here's: Rhu, Skye, Winston, Cara, Rudi, Merlin, Daphne, Alfie and Maggie all making the best of the sun and having some fun!

The Last Minute Round-Up!

Yes, it's that time of year again!

It has been quite a busy time at Bruff's Bark with lots of new puppies starting and coming for training, so we'd like to show you some of the things they have been up and you'll see some familiar faces as well!
We've got Buster, Cara, Winston, Rudi, Otto, Ollie and Baloo all having a bit of fun! 

Next up is the training time! We've got Monty working on perfecting his training and Scout - who stayed with Hilary, Rhu and Skye a few weeks back - coming to show us what he's remembered!

Finally it's been a long two weeks but Cara is finally back home from staying with Rhu and Skye. Although she loved it, we think she'll need a holiday herself for all the non-stop fun she's had!

When Little meet Large!

Oh what exciting times it is! With an influx of puppies, we are stumped to train them all but who should they best learn from than all the older dogs! So here we have introduced Oscar and Rudi to each other with the help of Rhu, Skye, Buster and Cara, the results are too enjoyable!

And after all the fun there is the walk home! The first day is fine but on the second day Oscar has seemed to had too much and insists on being carried!

But what fun walk wouldn't be without treats and when one dog gets a treat, the rest want one as well, least we have enough for everyone!

There is no escaping when they come!

Scout, Scout, lovable Scout...

He's soft and cuddly, and smiles alot!

Yes that happy looking dog there is Scout, a puppy Labrador, who has spent the last week staying with the girls - Rhu and Skye. At first he was a bit weary of the girls but then he settled in like the rest of them and ended up treating Skye as mum - Rhu on acted like an aunt, sometimes.

So here's a video of Rhu, Skye, Scout, Buster and Cara all playing together and with the new equipment we have got: a tunnel and hoop jump!

And after all the fun he's been having with the girls and new friends, Scout finally decided to get a good night's rest!

The Summer is ending...

And the kids are back to school but we'd like to give a big thank and shout out to Paul and Lauren for their help over the summer, they were a giant help and all the dogs will miss them. We would definitely have them back in a flash but we wish them all the best in the next term of school!
So now it's back to the hard work and we have some good news: we have a significant number of new dogs joining the Bruff's Bark Band and all new equipment for training! 
So keep your eyes peeled for them in the coming weeks!

Trials and Errors

Well the weather looks like it's done with the summer but we've cracked on and continued training in the scout hut and we've got some secret footage of the hard work that the Bruff's Bark Band does!

The stage is set so it's now time to get the show on the road! We'll start will a collection of the dynamic duo, Buster and Winston!

Puppy Play

Betty with her "Hoops".

Betty - ~7 month Rottweiler - has been joy to work with. Her boring walks have now been replaced with her new favourite toy: "Hoops".

By using this toy as a treat/reward she has learned how to:

• 'Wait'
• 'Down'
• 'Bring It'
• 'Leave'/'Thank You'

I have had the pleasure of working with Betty's sister and brother over the weekend, showing them that they can control and play with Betty without being pushed over. I have let them play and taught them 'careful' - which Betty already knows, this command slows her down and stops her being too boisterous.

Cara - ~7 month Lurcher - is all legs and tail. I have seen a great difference with when you work with her favourite toy a ball! She loves to run, but when you want her attention I use a short, sharp whistle and she comes running.
Keeping her attention is imperative as she loves to be with other dogs - even if they are at the other end of the beach or park!
I enjoy running with her, ' With Me' brings her in close and makes her concentrate on me.

Different pups have different attitudes, but as long as you give them praise and attention when they are good and steady discipline when they are naughty you will have a puppy who will be your best friend for life.

Bruff's Bark's Babies!

We are happy to introduce the new member of the Bruff's Bark Band: Betty! As you can see she has been introduced to Scarlett but also Bailey and Cara! She is only just over 2 months but she is a smart little Rottweiler, happy to play with her new pals.

All these dogs - except Bailey - are all under a year old, but meeting lots of new dogs at this age will benefit them greatly, as they'll be a more calm and happy when they grow up but they also learn from how to act from other canines.

Also not to forgot another puppy in the Band, although a good bit bigger, Chloe! Here is her walking with Hilary, off to go have fun!

When Cara met Merlin

These two young dogs just love to have a good run around, though Cara definitely has the advantage over Merlin.

The Winter Runs

The weather is cold, the streets icy but at Bruff's Bark, we are always on the move. One particular dog that likes to make us move is Jack. As said before he's a smart and highly intelligent canine, and nothing makes him more happy than a good cycle through the fresh snow and ice. As you can see he's looking rather dashing in his coat - which Skye used to wear. 

Unlike Jack, Skye and Cara love nothing more than to stay inside and sleep through the cold weather! Cara has taken to Skye as her mother and don't they look adorable! 

The Little-Big Adventures of Bruff's Bark

We start this adventure with Millie meeting Cara and Baxter. Millie is nearing her first birthday and she is a lovely little Boston Terrier cross Griffon Bruxellois, who just loves to run and meet new friends, though shy at first.

Millie's next adventure includes Winston, Buster, Max, Monty and Ruby! As you can see Millie and Max became quite friendly and it was there first time meeting each other!

Our final big adventure of the week included little Scarlett, Bailey, Saskia and Kropka. Bailey   as a big friend of Scarlett made sure she was safe at all time by checking on her every time she was on the move, but Scarlett was having a blast meeting Saskia and Kropka.

Cara the Lurcher

Cara has just started in the Bruff's Bark Band and she is already becoming known to the rest of the other dogs. As you can see, she is small but full of energy! She just loves to run about and have fun; she is also showing off her intellect by picking up commands quickly. We are happy to see that she's become quite the friend with Scarlett - leaving poor Bailey to play by himself.

After a good walk and play, she loves nothing more than coming over to Skye and Rhu; to have a rest deserved rest.
